The Democratic Party Cult

I've written before about how people blindly follow an ideology until they become cult-like. This is the case with the left and right, but today we have seen the left become even more like a cult. During the 2018 election we saw some far left people elected. The day after the election we began seeing them chanting about a Green New Deal. I'm not sure yet exactly what that means, but the name suggests something that gives government incredible control over our lives.

The first thing mentioned is a carbon tax. The far left always leads with a tax. We know that taxing energy increases the price of everything in the country. These new elected people talk about helping the poor and working class people, yet their first action is one that only does harm to those they claim to help.

Labeling America

These days, politics is driven by labels. There are three main groups, Conservative, Liberal(progressive), and Libertarian. Note that I used capitals with those labels. That's because those are names of groups. If we look closer, we will find many use those labels who have varying beliefs.

No matter the ideology, you will run into purists who try to say who can wear the label and who can't. I've personally run across that with upper case Libertarians, those who belong to the party and claim to be purists. I've been told I'm not libertarian because I believe differently on a few issues.

It seems, daily, I find anarchists who sometimes carry the Libertarian label. On a given day I'll find an anarchist who claims to be a progressive. I watch as people who all carry the same label, arguing over some issue.

The Following

There is a television show titled The Following. The story begins when a college literature professor becomes enraptured by the works of Edgar Allan Poe. He teaches these many writings with such passion that students become as enthralled as their professor. In time, they become so consumed by their passion that they explore the dark world of murder. For these people it is not cold and ruthless, but emotional and calculated.

In time, those students grow into adults and become a part of everyday society. They are doctors, lawyers, police, and FBI agents. No matter their current lives they have this attachment to their old professor, Joe Carroll. They do his bidding without hesitation. These former students will gladly die for their leader. This former professor, simply because he had a passion for an author, unwittingly created a cult.
